Treatment Pricing

Individualised care means that I spend enough time in consultation, for my patients to be fully informed about their situation, with ample opportunity to have their questions thoroughly addressed. Given this additional time spent on long consultations, I charge privately above the Medicare rebate.

In case of surgical procedure, it is generally difficult to provide an accurate price of a health service in an advertisement due to the personal nature of such services and the number of variables involved in the treatment of each person. I provide an informed financial consent at the time of consultation, including notification of likely out-of-pocket expenses (gaps), by all relevant service providers (surgical assistant, anaesthetist), prior to admission to hospital or treatment.

I participate in several health fund's gap cover schemes. This means that if you are privately insured, in most cases I will not charge a gap for the procedures, or a gap limited to $400 depending on your health fund. My secretary will be happy to tell you if you can be treated under this arrangement.

My practice uses Medicare Easyclaim. After you have paid your consultation, Medicare Easyclaim lets you claim your benefit, using a special EFTPOS terminal. Your benefit is paid directly into your cheque or savings account almost immediately and you save yourself a trip to a Medicare office.

Please contact my rooms for further information regarding consultation costs.

For initial infertility consultations, both partners will need a referral to see me. (If you don’t have a referral, you can’t claim from Medicare.)

Referrals from a General Practitioner last 12 months, and from another medical specialist last only 3 months.
